Strut and Strum and Open Mic

Hello everyone.  We are very excited about a new format we are using for the Open Mic, and Strut and Strum performances. We are aiming to make this a more exciting and rewarding experience for this year's participants.

 

Registration will be starting earlier for both performances. However, we will still maintain a sign-up sheet at the Registration desk for Open Mic.  Participants are encouraged to take advantage of the early registration process to ensure their spot in the programs.

 

Please note that the Open Mic will be limited to individuals and small groups of up to 5 people.  Groups of 6 or more individuals are encouraged to sign up for Strut amd Strum.


The theme for this year's program is "Hits of the 60's".  There are some great choices here with all the wonderful folk songs and love songs written during that decade.  And there is the music of The Beatles, The Beach Boys and so many others.


Please make note of these dates on your calendar:

May 10:     Registration for the Open Mic and the Strut and Strum starts on Wednesday, May 10th.  To register, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page and Submit it.


June 10:    Please submit a brief biography or background information of the individual or your group, no more than 120 words, accompanied by a picture by June 10th.


June 30:   Please submit, starting on June 30th a list of the songs you will be performing.  Include song titles, the names of the composers and the copyright dates.  We suggest that you have a list of 4 songs in order of preference.  Depending on the number of participants, you may be limited to 3 songs.   In the case that there are duplicate titles, you may be asked to choose another song from your list.  If you prefer to perform just 1 or 2 songs, that will be acceptable as well.

August 30      Deadline for submitting titles of songs and accompanying information.

September 30    On September 30th all contact people for individuals and groups will be emailed a copy of the program they are participating in.

Please note that we will be asking for confirmation of the number of people in your group in early October.  At that time, you will also be asked for a list of the sound equipment required for your set.
